What’s cool too is advances is charging technology means the battery doesn’t have to be as big because the range doesn’t have to be as large. Then it weighs less, uses less power. A virtuous circle.

I doubt they expect all these acts to stand, but expected challenges. We will see how it all shakes out.

Horseshoe theory? More like "the right vs left dichotomy is intellectually lazy garbage" theory.

@LuFins-Dad said in 6/131: And Jaxson Dart. That one's interesting. He needs to sit for a year or two. I've watched the guy play... He's gotten better every year he's played, with his completion percentage, QB rating, total yards and YPC going up each year. But Lord, he's like the little girl with the curl...He plays lights out for a couple of games and then has a clunker. TBH, his skill set is very similar to Rattler, who is already in the building.

Actually, Luke and I had started watching an Apple TV thriller about something similar happening in the Antarctic.

I suppose it's tricky where one chooses one's burial plot when a dead spouse and a remarriage are involved. Should the newly deceased widow/widower be buried next to the deceased spouse? If so where should the new spouse be buried when the new spouse dies? Posthumous three way just doesn't sound all that exciting when it comes to burial plot selection.

Where did you get the number from? I only saw references to Trump saying hunter "had up to 18 agents" in South Africa with him.

I once had an assignment at AID to get the AID GS employees to stop using punch cards (it was 1979) for their computer code. The bosses wanted them to use terminals, but the government programmers wouldn't trust them. They trusted cards they could hold in their hands. Really. The solution? Take away all the furniture they used to store the cards. That made the programmers give up and start using terminals to write code. Maybe Mr. Trump could take away all the employees desks and chairs. Eventually they'll get tired and go away.

https://www.newsmax.com/politics/south-africa-ambassador-expelled/2025/03/17/id/1203180/ The State Department says South Africa's ambassador to the United States, who was declared "persona non grata" last week, has until Friday to leave the country.

Trump is as honest as the day is long, as they say every Christmas at the north pole.

A long time ago, like a really long time ago, I read a book 'Ginger Lacy, Fighter Pilot', which a fantastic telling of the WW2 RAF experience, based around the pilot in question. It's well worth a read - apparently it's available on Amazon.

When in a foreign country, you have to respect the rules and regulations of that country, even if you dont agree with them. Thailand has VERY strict laws against saying ANYTHING bad about the royal family or king (lese majeste laws). I am aware of them, and no matter what I think of the king of Thailand or the law itself, I would never allow anything that could be seen as breaking these laws.

@jon-nyc said in Attempted Murder: I wonder how it’s normally charged? Probably varies by state. Indeed it does. For example in Minnesoooooooota it's a misdemeanor but they're trying to pass a law to make it a felony.

@Copper said in It gets personal: All told, more than 30,000 federal employees were fired in recent weeks after the Trump administration directed a mass purge of probationary staff. https://www.govexec.com/workforce/2025/03/trump-administration-taking-steps-comply-court-orders-reinstate-tens-thousands-fired-workers/403795/ Keep up! They have been rehired since what Trump did was not legal. Now they're getting paid to play golf! (or whatever they do on paid leave) 25,000 employees... costing us $8 million per day. So much winning! https://nodebb.the-new-coffee-room.club/topic/37080/judge-reverses-mass-firings-of-federal-workers/11
